Trading Systems (Signals Details and Use)
PITBULL LONG REPORT (return to the Pitbull Weekly Long Report)This is a medium term trading system that is based on a purely mechanical selection process. For over 10 years we used various newspapers to compile the data for selection. In 1999 we built the www.Stocktables.com web site that allows us to do these selections automatically on a daily basis if desired. The Weekly report is done every Sunday by 3PM PST and provides a once a week list of stock for purchase the following Monday. Stocktables screening is included with any service or may be purchased separately. To purchase a manual if you want to dig into the details behind the system CLICK HERE
(return to the Pitbull Weekly Long Report) EARNINGSTRADER-Pre-announcement trading systemThis is a medium term trading system that is based on a purely mechanical selection process. We offer a detailed manual that describes the construction of the system and the selection process, but if you are reading this you probably want to jump right in. The report is fairly self explanatory and easy to follow. We try to update the reports by 3PM Pacific Time every weekday for the next trading day's signals. Possible signals will include (BUY xx/xx/xx, SELL xx/xx/xx, PENDING xx/xx/xx or STOPPEDOUT). We analyze pre-announcements from companies to determine if they meet our criteria and if they pass they are assigned a signal date which will be either 2 or 3 days in the future, depending upon whether we have a positive or negative pre-announcement, respectively. NOTE THAT IN ALL CASES WE ARE BUYING THE EQUITY OR OPTION, EVEN IF THE SIGNAL IS A NEGATIVE PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT! If you don't understand the above statement Please review the FAQ page for the site. Buying the negative pre-announcements after a 3 day delay has proven to be even more profitable than even the positive pre-announcements. We recommend that the investor build up a portfolio of no more than 10 stocks, adding one at a time as the new ones appear on the list. Once you take profits or get stopped out then go back to the list and pick another to add. You will find that we average 6-10 stocks a month. They come in waves as we get closer to earnings announcements starting about 8 weeks beforehand and continuing through the last announcement day. Then there will be a "dead" period which lasts 2-4 weeks before we see new pre-announcements. Check in at least every other day to see updated stops for each stock. If you are trading options use the stock as your guide. It is impossible to put sensible stops on options trades themselves. the trailing stop will keep you out of major trouble in case of a selloff or will protect profits from disappearing when the momentum is gone out of the stock. About a week before final announcements are due, we do a final check and update the sell date if need be. Sometimes the companies are ready 3-4 days early or delayed 3-4 days the other way. We will keep track and get you out 3 days prior to the actual announcement date.
